Jubilee Runners

In 2002 the Queen’s Jubilee baton , which had crossed every continent in the previous 16 months, was carried along the by-pass on its way to the Manchester Commonwealth Games. The relay featured runners with differing abilities. At the opening ceremony the baton was presented back to the Queen by a brave little girl called Kirsty Howard and footballer David Beckham
