At the bottom of Quarry Hill is the railway line between Wakefield and Huddersfield and the site of the old station, handy for the mills. Mallard, which still holds the world speed record for steam locomotives at 126 mph, out on a day’s excursion, attracting steam enthusiasts to the railway bridge at Horbury.
