Stan Barstow Visiting an Old Haunt, Horbury Library.
by June Brennan
In the library, local author Stan Barstow, whose novel Joby was based on memories of growing up in Horbury, was the guest at the inaugural event of the Friends of Horbury Library. Seen here with library staff (Colin Little and Susan Parker), the secretary of the new organisation (Jill Thomas) and the chairman of the Village Partnership (Ian Mosedale). Stan Barstow shared memories of his visits to the library in his youth. Stan Barstow is probably best known for his novel A Kind of Loving.
