Westfield chapel
by Janet Taylor
At the junction of Tithe Barn Street and Westfield Road stands the Westfield Chapel. Originally built for the New Connexion Methodists around 1878 when the Zion Chapel became too small. Now the Tithe Barn Christian Centre. An example of reverse applique, a technique by which incisions are made in the appliqued cloth. In this case the windows are cut out to reveal blue undercloth and then the whole machine stitched.
