Some 90 Horbury men died in World War I, 42 in World War II and 1 in the Malayan Conflict (1948-1960).  We we continue to remember their sacrifice.  This relatively small war memorial is sited in Sparrow Park, now renamed Horbury Memorial Park, next to the town hall.  Sewn by Joan Yarrow.  There is also a memorial to the four Horbury Bridge men killed in World War II in Reid Park, Horbury Bridge.  The 29 Horbury men who served in the Boer War are commemorated on a brass plaque in the town hall.
